Benefit of EZ Clutch, It Works Fine

Mac,
Just because many have not yet broken does not mean there is not an issue
pending. These seem to work best on the the pre 247 engines where the
clutch adjustment was less specific. I did have one when my /5 came to me
that worked, even so I removed it. After only 27K miles I ended up
replacing the entire clutch assembly and the gear box some 18K miles later
on my toaster.
Expert in the airhead community who specializes in drive trains coached me
on the issues with this toy. Reg is a great guy and awesome racer but he
does not have almost 50 years experience with our airheads on his work
bench. Vech specializes in pre 1970 bikes and I am not discussing them,
besides many are not putting the long haul miles on the /2 and earlier any
more it is even less of an issue for these bikes.
Facts are facts the bikes was designed to have so much motion and this
reduces it. So, the bike is not working as intended and you know better
then most keep that up and it costs money.
As I said your money but as some may be inclined to follow your lead they
need to also know that that when it comes to directions your skills are,
unique, and detours may be in the future.

Ducdude, what you assert has not been my or many others experience at all.
There actually is plenty of disengagement, clutch and gear disengagement has
been discussed at length with Reg Pridmore at many CLASS courses as he
discusses proper shifting techniques and application of the clutch and
clutch lever at length at all his classes.
Call and ask Vech at Bench Mark Works and see if he agrees with your logic
and your assertion.
I do not agree with you, but my mileage may vary.

You logic is not quite sound Mac,
Reduced effort means reduced throw at the thrust bearing means you do not
have the optimal disengagement of the clutch with this toy. The Distance
the leaver moves does not change but the throw at the other end does that is
why it is easier.
You may want to pack a spare clutch and gear box and cable as you could be
putting the reminder of the system at risk by not having it properly set up.
More so in the /5 and up then the /2 it seems.
I had one and eliminated it. Even with my f-ed up hands I never felt the
pull on a /2,/5,/6,/7 to be to hard even with the killer spring the R90
has..
Your bike your money your opportunity to bond with the innards of your drive
train when this farkle leaves you stranded.
You have been warned.

I ordered and installed an EZ Clutch pull from Bench Mark Works some time
ago and really like the greatly reduced clutch pull.
Well I found out today that due to the greatly reduced clutch pull, the
clutch cable will now last a lot longer, IOW much less pull on the cable =
far longer clutch cable life and that reduces the necessity to have to carry
an extra clutch cable. Although I still will carry an extra one!
