That was a hard day of riding through a tremendous rain event and questionable terrain for all- especially those on RS and S bikes with narrow low bars! The reward was spectacular. I recall reaching the top of the mountain and people all pitched in setting up camp. I worked to erect the massive brown tarp with help from others, Zwicky and Mac cut firewood and got a fire going, and then skies fully cleared and we were treated to a night with a brilliant moon and many stars. Dave Fish had star charts with him. We tracked the movement of the planets across the sky and had a ball just being out there. The next day some lucky riders managed to dodge the rain on the way back, and others were not so lucky!
Mark pulled off one of his spectacular deserts that evening which included softened fresh pears over chocolate pudding with a crushed granola topping. It was tremendous, and there was a lot of conversation about those pajamas. He was un-phased with Scotch in hand and loving every minute of it.
That is just one of many classic Mark memories.

As I recall.......a classic Mark moment, so....

From: "Zwicky,
I remember him after dinner that night, sitting in those pajamas that he
had brought back from Thailand, feet up, with a cigar in his mouth,
proudly telling me that they had only cost "three baht" at the bazaar.

As I remember it, the 2015 Rolling Rally led us to a campground in the
mountains at about 4000 feet near Seneca Rock. Getting there was a wet and wild
adventure but once there, the clouds were parting and Mark was already stoking a
big camp fire to warmly receive all of the soggy Hedz. I seem to remember him
wearing a pair of pajama bottoms that declared it would be a festive night of
eating and drinking. And it was!
