Great to hear.

Anton is top notch and a straight shooter. I have not met Dave Carmean, but you sound very capable. Still, I’d take backtoads any day to the hellish I-95!

If you have pics, I’d love to see them. I am completely rebuilding one of the early ‘77 R100RS bike, with 40mm exhaust. So I am very interested in tracking your progress too.

Thanks Tony. I'm in Richmond, I would never ask any of my Airhead friends to brave DC / NoVA / F-burg I95 nightmare. With advice from the list, and RealOEM / MAX fiche, and Brook's site, I am confident I can do most of this stuff myself. I've already rebuilt completely my '76 R90/6, except for the bottom end, which has not shown signs yet of needing attention.

We also have a local Airhead mechanic named Dave Carmean in case I need to carry something over to him. And Anton is just 70 miles away.

BTW the original forks are sitting in the garage floor. The ones on the bike are '84 with Brembo brakes.

Mostly it was pulling the parts for the customer’s convenience—their contents vary from shop to shop. I am not sure BMW ever offered a kit. I think the shops do that less and less (sort of the same demise as the airhead tech knowledge base—we are on our own).
