Eric,

Drilling into perfectly good parts is definitely stressful the first time or two.  Good practice for modding the absorbers / dampening rods in the fork sliders is find similar type stock at a hardware place and drill on that a few times to get a feel for the task before taking the bit to the real items.

Thanks Tony.   I'm in Richmond, I would never ask any of my Airhead
friends to brave DC / NoVA / F-burg I95 nightmare.    With advice from
the list, and RealOEM / MAX fiche, and Brook's site, I am confident I
can do most of this stuff myself.   I've already rebuilt completely my
'76 R90/6, except for the bottom end, which has not shown signs yet of
needing attention.

We also have a local Airhead mechanic named Dave Carmean in case I need
to carry something over to him.  And Anton is just 70 miles away.

BTW the original forks are sitting in the garage floor.   The ones on
the bike are '84 with Brembo brakes.
