Could try a homemade cardboard and pinhole solar eclipse viewer and tape it over your face shield.
Main road to / from my house runs due east & west. Pre-Covid I always adjusted my work schedule so my commute time don't align so much with the sun. Teleworking has cured things for now.

I don't know about you, but the change to Standard Time and the low arc of the sun mean scaled eyeballs heading East at Daybreak or West at Dusk.
I wear photochromatic prescription lenses that work very well about 95% of the time, except at this time of the year.
Does anyone have any products or secrets to share about how to overcome this ?
Best regards,
Alan
