BMW handlebars are 22mm in diameter.  Duanne Ausherman has an article on the benefits of riding with low bars.  It is here:

Flanders sells 22mm handlebars in several of configurations.   I have never ridden with euro low bars as my neck does not like the craning to keep my head back.  My current R80 has RT bars I think- nearly upright and they are comfortable, but not sporting looking.  Eric Zwicky put low bars on his R90/6 and may weigh in with his thoughts.  I've also used the 'American' delivered bars on an R90/6 which are a bit higher, but not full upright.

Whatever floats your boat- reference to floating as I am leaving for the PA tent float contest in an hour!!!  The steady rain promises a miserable soul crushing weekend.  Should be fantastic...

Hi All,


Are Airhead handlebar end diameters the same for heated grip / non-heated grip handlebars?  Seems all online parts fiches only list the part number for heated grip handlebars.  I know the heated variety comes pre-drilled for the grip wiring but can't find any info on bar end diameters.


On the hunt for a used set of bars to replace my R80 bars since the current set is so badly scratched / gouged / pitted. The bike doesn't have heated grips.  Want to make sure about bar end differences to make sure I get a set that will fit my grips / controls.
