Didier Devynck asked me to forward this announcement from him to our respective lists. He is having intermittent issues accessing the lists.

I don’t think I rode it once in the past year, except to go to Techno Barn a little over 3 weeks ago, and then I managed to drop it from the lift when taking it out of my barn and the fairing got damaged. I took that as a shot across the bow and I have come to the conclusion that this bike deserves better. Incidentally, my selling the bike doesn’t mean I will drop off the surface of the earth. I made some very good friends in this group and I don’t want to lose that. You will still see me at some events, but I’ll be driving a car to get there :-(

> For those of you who were not at Techno Barn, I have pictures of the damage to the fairing, the windshield and the instrument panel. Somebody who knows his/her way around fiberglass should be able to repair the fairing in a way that makes the damage hard to see. The instrument panel will need to be replaced because it is broken beyond repair. I don’t think the list allows attachments so, if you want to see the pictures, email me and I’ll send them to you.

> Other than that, the bike runs very well, even though I have had my share of mishaps in the past, all due to my own stupidity. It has matching numbers, 68,344 miles, and a clock that works flawlessly, a rarity for these bikes. I just installed a new set of Noris points and it also has the Omega 450W alternator. Other small changes I made to the bike are the Fiamm horns to replace that puny thing BMW saw fit to install on these bikes, and a LED rear light replacement (super bright).

If you don’t like them, you can probably sell them fairly quickly on IBMWR. I paid $400 for them a few years ago and I’m sure they would sell for at least that now.
