I'm hoping that all i will need is the crush washers and while at it replace the screens
so one last question.Someone remarked that the nuts that hold the petcocks in place spin opposite of how you would think they would.Put a wrench on and turn to the left to loosen would of been my 1st choice. But again someone somewhere in my travels said , no they spin to the right to remove.I don't want t gum this up and sorry if i'm beating a dead horse.Whats the skinny on this question ?

Rolls Royce developed Hylomar Blue for it's aircraft engines and fuel systems in the early 80's
Hylomar Blue sealant is still today approved & used with fuel systems.
Bob's BMW, San Jose BMW, Beemer Shop......all have been using Hylomar Blue where gas sealing is needed for 30+ yrs. All of them recommend & sell Hylomar because it's a proven product & works so well.

Very first lesson I learned in motorcycle mechanic stuff: never use sealants anywhere in a fuel system.

Do realize that the original fiber washers sealed much easier with less nut torque vs alloy washers.
I don't use the alloy sealing washers that come with petcocks. I use fiber washers from Harbor Freight or Amazon with a thin smear of Hylomar Blue sealant on both sides of the fiber washer. Seals like butter.
Do make sure all the petcock threads are clean (brass toothbrush works well) and wiped with some wheel bearing grease for ease of operation and anti-rust properties.
I'm still using the same fiber washers from 10 yrs ago because they don't become deformed with such little torque on the sealing nut and Hylomar stays soft and seals time and time again.
600 pc fiber washer kit will last you decades for all kinds of uses.... $16..
