C'mon out this Saturday if you aren't doing anything. Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Backroads Fall Tour Saturday, September 19, 2020 If vintage motorcycles are your passion, we invite you to join us for the 2020 PVGP Motorcycle Backroads Fall Tour on Saturday, September 19. Our July Summer Tour was awesome and we expect the fall version to cover some beautiful autumn foliage. There were quite a few Airheads in attendance. The PVGP's Countryside Tour team decided to add this Fall motorcycle-only tour to this already spectacular event to raise money for the PVGP charities. All bikes welcome, vintage bikes preferred. Cost The cost of the event is $40 and includes your lunch at Jamison Farm. Keeping with the vintage tradition, registration is limited to 35 people (this includes passengers). The tour departs from Fort Ligonier and follows a delightful collection of scenic, twisting, lightly-traveled back roads through Pennsylvania?s beautiful Laurel Highlands. Be advised, this is a RIDING tour and not for the faint of heart. We will cover 75 miles of all back roads at a brisk pace! We will have two groups leave, one that will travel at a more spirited pace (no passengers) and the second for those who want to take it a bit more relaxed (passengers welcomed). The groups will leave from Fort Ligonier on route 30 at approximately 9:30 a.m. and end up at Jamison Farm for lunch, stopping for a break and regrouping halfway through the ride. Registration is now open and limited to the first 35 people, so don?t wait too long to sign-up! To keep social distancing as much as possible we have to limit the number of people at the luncheon. Lunch at Jamison Farm On Tour Day, traveling in two groups, to enhance both safety and the riding experience, we will work up a good thirst and an appetite, which will be slaked during our visit to Jamison Farm, on another country road near Crabtree, Pa. Owners John and Sukey Jamison raise lamb, which you will find on the menus of many fine restaurants and they are excited to be our luncheon hosts, this year. A very talented cook herself, Sukey Jamison has created a line of hand-prepared lamb dishes, which include a Lamb Stew created in collaboration with the late, great Jean-Louis Palladin and Sukey?s award-winning Lamb Pie. Veggies are also available as an option. Your participation in the show contributes to the PVGP charities . It was my friend's first-year R9T and he took great care of it. Sadly, cancer claimed his life last spring and his widow moved the bike to KC where she has no use for it. Thus, I'm going to go rescue it after a 3-year sleep. Her brother put in a new battery and the bike started right up, so I'm confident that I can fettle it and load it up and head for home later on Sunday. That means that I will be riding the slab I-70 to I-76 all the way. I plan overnights at seedy motels along the way in or around: Sunday- St Louis, MO Monday- I-70/I-75 interchange area Tuesday- Pittsburgh area Wednesday - I hope to be home at Yardley. I've done this kind of trip before and it is a lot more fun if I can meet up with Airheads in the areas where I'm laying over to visit a bit and share a meal at a dingy diner in the bad neighborhoods. Anybody want to meet and eat on any of those Sun, Mon or Tues. nights? Please email to me direct, OFF LIST so that we don't clog the list. I REPEAT: Please email to me OFF LIST. I'll check emails from my phone daily. Thanks for the bandwidth. Hoping to find some company. -- Tom Cutter Yardley, PA www.RubberChickenRacingGarage.com "The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit." --Deepak Panwar -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... The outer metal circle around the rubber perfectly matches the ID of the shock. The outer bushing ring is tapered on one side. Looks like it is pressed in while possibly pushing out the old outer ring. Anyone know the proper process? Any help/ideas much appreciated.
