EuroMoto Electric, www.euromotorelectrics.com,  offers a great upgrade to the anemic 13A /5 stator assembly.  The upgrade increase output to 20A like later models and fits easily within the 105mm cavity of the /5 front cover.  What they offer is a stator that is 105mm on the one side to fit into the cover and 107mm on the outside to fit inside a later model shell with the additional Y contact.  Basically it's a 2 piece upgrade with the stator and the stator shell.  


I found a late model used shell with a bad stator and inserted the upgrade stator from EuroMoto, installed the new unit and attached the wire from the Diode board to the Y connector that wasn't available before.  The extra output makes a nice difference and if you do want to add any electrical accessories you're now prepared.
