... with that 'barn find' R60/5 !

So, the problem started with the 31 42 1 230 467, steering damper knob: wouldn't unscrew !
The E.P.O. decided to get to the bottom of it, note: front end fully assembled.
After trying in vain to fit a wrench on the captive nut, holding the damper plates together,
'Fred Flintstone' turned to his trusty hand-held die grinder...

Ah, decades of miserable storage in the barn had melted and fussed the 32 42 1 230 588, support ring, fast to the lower, threaded rod...

Your's truly found all this out during my disassembly... and much more ! Note the main electrical harness, just below the spring pin(vent) of the left fork boot ! Grrrrr...

Time to dump the 'bucket-o-snakes' out and affect repairs...
