Hey Walt,

Suburban Machinery makes a kit for the R1100S.  Available from Sierra BMW, http://www.sierrabmwonline.com/product_info.php/suburban-machinery-r1100s-footpeg-lowering-kit-bmw-r1100s-dl4-p-446.  Not cheap but they help considerably.  Had them on my R1100S.  Wunderlich used to have them but no longer.
