My '81 G/S has a Dakar tank purchased from the dealer as an option.  I
have the original G/S tank and thinking I should museum-fy the (then
illegal?) optional Dakar tank.  Maybe I'll get the paint cleaned up and
have the tank autographed by Herr Muth then have my body shop clear coat
over that.

This bike is going to be one of many things that pay for my
no-motorcycles-allowed days in a retirement community, a little
investment now might have a nice pay off in 30 years.
