On Saturday April 20th, Chris and Bridget Kennedy will once again host their annual TechnoBarn Tech Day in Crownsville, Maryland. Official details of the event from Chris and Bridget are below. Please RSVP to Chris, so they have some idea of how much food will be needed. Hope to see you there! MD- Crownsville TechnoBarn Tech Day Rain day if required Sunday April 21st . Hope you can join Bridget and myself for yet another Annual TechnoBarn Tech Day in Crownsville, MD. This is the perfect event to get your ride ready for the season - plenty of room in our restored tobacco barn for multiple airheads, motorcycle lift, motorcycle jacks, good selection of tools, compressor, carb balancer, timing light, etc. We are 20 minutes from Annapolis, and 20 minutes from Bob?s BMW in case you need that extra part. There?s lots of room for anyone with a yen to camp over and do some additional sightseeing. The grill will be fired up with suitable fare and soft drinks will be available. It is up to you to provide your own cigars and port. If anyone is interested in a special project or has a repair beyond regular maintenance let us know in advance so we can make sure to have all necessary tools available. Please call or e-mail for directions or further information. We will be ready to go any time after 9am. Food planning will be a lot easier if we have an accurate head count, so please RSVP. I am located in Langhorne, PA. The bike has about 45,000 miles, it is on it's third speedometer/odometer. This bike is extremely original with the following upgrades: Endurolast 450 alternator kit, done in 2009. The transmission was rebuilt with the circlip and a new speedo installed at 10598 miles in 2004. These were done by Tom Cutter, front forks were rebuilt in 2003 by Cherry Hill BMW, in 2004 I had a ?8000 mile service and the carburetors rebuilt with new jets and floats by Cherry Hill BMW. The lights were modified with duel filament bulbs in 2007 and Hella driving lights added in 2009. The windshield is from Clearview Shields with the Gold Wing vent installed, the banding is original to the bike. The seat is modified to lower it. If you were going to restore the bike I also have a new OEM seat. The extra parts are: a fresh oil filter kit, new air filter, a new clutch, an extra speedo that needs the odometer fixed. There is a complete original tool kit in the tail piece, and the original owners manual. New rubber brake lines were installed in 2003, a new Master cylinder was installed in 2010. This is a good running bike that also has a recent inspection. Forgot to mention I also have original keys for all bags and compartments. http://s1317.photobucket.com/user/wdman2000/library/R80RTpictures? All others are welcome in the parking area, so ride/bring what you have. I go every year and spend the entire day seeing the many who have come over the years and newbies. I also do judging duties in the Italian classes. Btw......there's a nice flea market that has been very good for vintage BMW parts. For instance, last year I scored a full set of beautiful condition Craven panniers and top box for just $200 for a buddy who's restoring his 1969 R69US. Also note that this year is the first year for Japanese bikes. This will most certainly become a bit hit with many for years to come. The venue is new this year and sure to please. We hope to see plenty of bikes (like this 1973 XS650 Yamaha) vying for concours plaques in the Stock classes for Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Other Japanese categories, as well as the Competition and Custom classes. There is also a special award for the Oldest Japanese bike. The vendors will also be open to 1983 or older parts/bikes/accessories for Japanese bikes. Message-ID: Hedz, We are doing it again... Five years ago Mike DiPietro, Robert Wack, and I hatched a plan to build a block cooker in Mike's backyard and roast an entire pig. We thought it would be a good way to bring the neighborhood together and invite friends and family for a large backyard party. The idea was kicked around a bit, and carried out with tremendous support from Sue, Lisa, and Laura (our wonderful wives) along with many friends, and neighbors. This is our fifth year hosting the event and it really has been a lot of fun. Each year we roast an entire pig, some chicken, and also have burgers and hot dogs for the kids. We put the pig in the cooker Friday evening, cover it, and slow roast it over hardwood for about 18 hours. The next morning we fill my canoe with a few hundred pounds of ice and beverages for kids and adults. We ask people bring a side dish to share and whatever particular beverages you enjoy or would like to share. We have chilled trays to keep cold foods cool. The party is family friendly. We have yard games for the kids including volleyball, badminton, corn-hole, and whatever else they may want to play; so please feel free to bring them along- children, adults, spouses, significant others, etc... It generally goes late with a backyard bonfire... We host about 150 people throughout the day. It's a great way to spend a spring afternoon, meet new people, and enjoy some great food. This year we have settled on May 11th for the day and usually get started around 3:00 PM or so. And.. this year my daughter Mae is in the middle school production of Annie Jr. that same day with a 2:00 PM matinee performance, so I will likely make it back to the pig roast around 4:15 or so... That's about the time we will pull the pig from the cooker. We live in downtown Westminster and we host the event in Mike and Sue Dipietro's back yard just up the street from our house. Details: Saturday May 11, 2019 3:00ish PM until ? Address: 90 W Green Street Westminster, Maryland 21157 (three houses up the street from where we live) Give me a head's up if you're coming so we can gauge the size of the pig we must secure... I subscribed to several magazines and the main one was Floyd Clymer's Cycle Magazine. I collected the test reports from those issues & put them in a binder. The test reports cover bikes from 1955 to 1959 - many brands no longer produced. Ever heard of a Triumph Terrier or a Horex Resident? How about a Panther model 75 or a Cushman Road King? The binder contains the test reports on 54 different bikes between 1955 & 1959. Even a test on a Honda Dream in 1959. There is also a Butler & Smith Price List that was effective January 1958. A BMW R69 (Super Sport) with 35 HP and a Magneto Ignition was priced at $1345.00. You could get a sidecar for only $395.00. These reports cover vehicles available before most of you were even a thought in your parents minds. This binder is unique and will provide someone with some very interesting history. It is offered for free to the 1st respondent and can be picked up at my May 11th Get-Together - I will not mail it.
