It will be nice if a few folks show up, wouldn't mind a crowd even! Here 'ya go: First Annual Mason Dixon Tech Day/Social Gathering/Swap Meet-Saturday September 8th, 8:00 AM to ? at the rural home of Mark Passaro. We are located in south-central PA about twenty miles north of the MD line at the foot of South Mtn. near York Springs. Perhaps some of the Marylanders will join us, all are welcome. Hoping to have some "keepers of the knowledge" present to assist with repairs or maintenance. Most standard and some special tools here, contact me if you have a need and arrangements can be made to have required tools available. Oft times now these affairs are more of a social gathering and less about wrenching and that is fine as well. Plenty of room and we'll keep the pool open! I will have table space available to sell any parts or gear (I'm emptying some shelves), clean out that horde of Motorrad gold and bring it, pass it on to a Club member. We're located at: 2081 County Line Rd. York Springs, PA 17372. Some notice you're coming will help in planning food and refreshments. Coffee/donuts in the morning and something good for lunch. He is having intermittent issues accessing the lists. > >> Fellow Airheads, >> >> I thought long and hard about this and I have come to the very hard decision that I should sell my bike. I don?t think I rode it once in the past year, except to go to Techno Barn a little over 3 weeks ago, and then I managed to drop it from the lift when taking it out of my barn and the fairing got damaged. I took that as a shot across the bow and I have come to the conclusion that this bike deserves better. Incidentally, my selling the bike doesn?t mean I will drop off the surface of the earth. I made some very good friends in this group and I don?t want to lose that. You will still see me at some events, but I?ll be driving a car to get there :-( >> >> For those of you who were not at Techno Barn, I have pictures of the damage to the fairing, the windshield and the instrument panel. Somebody who knows his/her way around fiberglass should be able to repair the fairing in a way that makes the damage hard to see. The instrument panel will need to be replaced because it is broken beyond repair. I don?t think the list allows attachments so, if you want to see the pictures, email me and I?ll send them to you. >> >> Other than that, the bike runs very well, even though I have had my share of mishaps in the past, all due to my own stupidity. It has matching numbers, 68,344 miles, and a clock that works flawlessly, a rarity for these bikes. I just installed a new set of Noris points and it also has the Omega 450W alternator. Other small changes I made to the bike are the Fiamm horns to replace that puny thing BMW saw fit to install on these bikes, and a LED rear light replacement (super bright). >> >> I also installed the Talbot mirrors on the bike. I love them as they actually provide some protection for your hands in case of light rain. If you don?t like them, you can probably sell them fairly quickly on IBMWR. I paid $400 for them a few years ago and I?m sure they would sell for at least that now. >> >> The bike also has a nice set of Krauser bags (with keys) and Krauser crash bars. >> >> I am giving list members the first shot at it. If nobody expresses interest, I will go to other lists and possibly eBay but I would rather see this bike go to someone I know. I was going to ask for $8,000 but, because of the damaged fairing, I think $7,000 is a fair price, at least on this list. >> >> Call me at 240-643-3950 if you have any questions. >> >> Thanks. >> Didier From biery at comcast.net Wed May 16 16:48:36 2018 From: biery at comcast.net (WESLEY BIERY) Date: Wed, 16 May 2018 16:48:36 -0400 (EDT) Subject: [PAAirheads] Fwd: Re: Tent float References: Message-ID: <1003866336.1569707.1526503716885@connect.xfinity.com> -------- Original Message ---------- From: WESLEY BIERY To: mike murock , paairheads at mail.casano mailto:paairheads at mail.casano .com, mike murock via PAAirheads Date: May 16, 2018 at 4:44 PM Subject: Re: [PAAirheads] Tent float Can someone give me the address of the camp ground ? Next week we will construct the block pig cooker in Mike and Sue DiPietro's yard, source a pig and some beef, haul in a half cord of seasoned oak and get everything set up. Then Friday June 1st we will start the pig and let it cook slowly for about twenty hours... In addition to the pig we plan to roast a big slab of beef and we will have some hot dogs for the kids. We will also have music and bunch of picnic tables for the event. Come early, stay late. Many of you are likely aware that this is the same weekend as the Square Route Rally in Thurmont, MD hosted by the BMWBMW riders. If you want to ride down out of the mountains for the afternoon and eat some barbecue and then head back that's fine with us. If you want to ride down, and sleep on the floor in my house or pitch your tent in the back yard, that's fine too- just let me know in advance of your intentions. First come first served... If you can make it let us know. Please bring a side dish to share and what you would like to drink. We'll have our canoe full of ice again this year for your beverages. We'll also have non-alcoholic beverages. This is a kid-friendly neighborhood party. We will have yard games set up for children and adults to enjoy. Details: 3:00ish PM until ? Address: 90 W Green Street Westminster, Maryland 21157 (three houses up the street from where we live) Give us a head's up if you're coming so we can gauge if we need to increase the size of the pig we must secure... The seat on it is a Corbin in a deep blue, almost black with royal blue piping.? It also is in great to excellent condition.? The seat assembly came from a Last Edition CS or RS. If anyone has a need for such an assembly let me know and I'll send some pics.? Otherwise up on IBMWR it goes.? Pricing a bit high due to the rarity and the overall patina of the assembly. -- larry m From ritterillustration at gmail.com Sun May 27 20:55:04 2018 From: ritterillustration at gmail.com (John Ritter) Date: Sun, 27 May 2018 20:55:04 -0400 Subject: [PAAirheads] Last Edition R100 RS or CS seat assembly In-Reply-To: <798b3c34-dcb8-0e91-7cdb-2cf44de47ea9@me.com> References: <798b3c34-dcb8-0e91-7cdb-2cf44de47ea9@me.com> Message-ID: <17334E08-CC2F-4CBE-B0AB-796F2AAAFAF3@gmail.com> Does anyone have a rear luggage rack for an R80ST? I took my wife for a ride and thought to myself... I know it's been a few years since she's been on the bike with me and she's had two kids, but there is WAY less room on this bike for two than the flat seat on the 1974 R90/6 I had before. I was careful not to make this comment aloud... After a 500 mile day from VT to Maryland I liked it even less... other than for its sheer beauty and elegant line... Then I found a Corbin Dual Canyon used and it fit me well. Still not enough room for a passenger back there, but the contour of the seat holds a dry bag well! I do not have a spare tool tray and mine is cracked but remains useable... Bike is located near Phillipsburg, NJ. It has the Luftmeister fairing and BMW saddlebags. 58,400+ miles. Runs well. Some minor scratches. Not original color but I think it is nicer. Saddle bags are faded and one has makeshift clasps. Also has an extra Corbin seat in like new condition that is too hard for me. Rear tire is worn.
