Ed, the question marks are something Bill's mail server adds to messages
hoping to amuse us.

FWIW - My usual route to Crystal Brook:

1-195 to Rt 29N, R29N to Frenchtown. At Frenchtown, turn left then right
onto 619. Follow 619  about 10 miles to where 519 appears, a right turn.

Take 519 to Hope - continue straight on 521. Take 521 to where it comes
out on Rt 206 (521 does a left/right jog along Rt94 in Blairstown).

At 206, 521 merges with 206N.  JUST before the NJ/PA border (and
Delaware River and toll crossing at Milford, 521 takes off to the right
again, heading NE to Rt6. Turn left on Rt6, the bridge into PA is right
there.  Head into Port Jervis. (You've avoided the toll and some traffic..)

I usually plan on lunch in Port Jervis. No place I'd care to recommend
though.  Take Rt6 northwest through PJ, and watch for the fork for R42.
At this point there are some choices:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Choice 1:  One of my favorite roads - Rt 42 between PJ and Monticello
NY. You can go this way - it has nice sweepers, banked just right,
usually excellent pavement and wide shoulders to help spot any deer
terrorizing you.

You'll head north out of Montecello on Rt 17, take it to Liberty NY,(**)
and get on Rt 55 east.  Take 55 to  Rt 19 (Claryville) which heads
north.  Wonderful road - you want to follow it to Frost Valley Road
(watch for the YMCA camp signs) - this is even a better road.

It follows the banks of the Big Flatbrook River almost all the way to
Big-Indian. At one point it makes a 90 degree left turn and is then
Called Rt 47. Continue on - I'd suggest putting "Big Indian" in your GPS
as a waypoint.  Turn right - you'll briefly be on Rt 28, watch for the
left turn for Rt 42 - it's a bit tricky.

At this point put the Crystal Brook Resort address into your GPS, and
ask it to take you there. There are only great roads between this point
and Crystal Brook.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Choice 2: Instead of bearing right onto Rt 42, continue straight onto Rt
97. This runs along the edge of the Delaware, and through Hawks Nest - a
sorta famous (but very short) motorcycle road often used by BMW for
their advertisements (close proximity to their headquarters in north
Jersey I guess..)   Continue on 97 to Barryville.

At Barryville, turn North (right) on Rt 55.  Take 55 until it gets to
Liberty - then you can take the route above from Liberty. (see (**))

PS: On Rt 55 you will go past the actual site of Woodstock. There is a
big stone out in a field that commemorates it.

Done right - travel time, 9AM my house (so ~ 50 minutes over to Trenton)
- you should arrive at Crystal Brook around 4PM.  Plenty of time for a
nap before dinner.

Wish I was going - some great motorcycling along those routes. These are
all good roads once you get to Trenton, and it avoids ugly roads like
I-287. Those are no fun.  When leading a group up, we usually meet at a
Sunoco station in West Trenton on Rt 29. It's right where the S turns
around some houses in the middle of the highway are.
