NJSBMWRs
The MOA is holding a regional Charter  Club meeting on March 9th in Saratoga NY (north of Albany).  Two  representatives from  each of the clubs in  NJ, PA, Ohio NY, CN, NH, MA etc are expected to participate. The purpose is to better understand Club's needs and interfaces with the MOA.
I plan on going but our other club officers cannot.

Who would like to attend?

Subject: Regional Teleconference Call Follow Up

Thank you for calling in.  It was a productive / valuable meeting.   We held a call Wednesday evening 1/23.  The purpose was for clubs to talk about what they want to hear and / or talk about at the MOA sponsored meeting March 9 in Saratoga Springs, NY.

   - MOV - good cooperation w/MOA.  Interested in internet and / or web based address list management, etc.  MOA has (at least had) 3 power point decks about riding awarenesses, and other related safety / smart riding content.
   - OSBMWR - let’s get up to speed on MOA rally and then local club rally schedules.  Talk about Advanced Rider Education courses.
   - YB - how to attract younger members and how to engage the momentum of emerging woman riders.  Discuss MOA insurance offerings / alternatives for clubs.
   - CRVBMWR - can MOA and club coordinate rallies better?  Can we reduce the number of overlapping rallies?  We find new members by working with a local dealer (MAX in E Windsor, CT) who provides new owners a free club membership (not paid by dealer).  Talk about MSF Street Smart Program Presentation.
   - BMWRWNY - concerned with closest dealer being 200+ miles away.  This club membership likes MOA GetaWays.  Cost of new BMW bikes limit the attraction for young riders.  This club likes guest speakers.  If you ride a BMW you become a member.  If you don’t ride a BMW bike you need to be sponsored by a BMW rider to join.  Use New England Riders for route suggestions - this club recommends other clubs do same.  This club wants to share their success with hosting ‘Road Guardians’ - a team of certified Nurses, EMT’s, and Doctors to provide accident management and accident medical care techniques for the rider to deploy until a professional arrives on the accident scene.  getmyidcard.com is a great resource that can store critical medial / personal data that the rider can then get inserted via a bar code or QR type code onto a bracelet or other simple device to carry and / or wear on our person while riding so a responding medical professional can access the data.
   - NJSBMWR - talk about having local club meetings at the National Rallies - discuss ideas about how to attract new and female members, etc.  Tell us how the trial to have Ambassadors make initial contact with new MOA members worked out?  How has this been managed by the MOA and the Ambassadors?  What are MOA ideas on how to manage so many (too many at times) rallies on one weekend?  Make a teleconference line available at the Hotel on March 9 for those who can’t travel but want to participate.
   - LIBMWRC - this club likes all the rally options and couples events have been very successful.
   - GSBMWR - MOA Vermont GetaWay in September is poorly timed as it interferes with many local club events for this month.  September in the NE is a particularly busy time for local events due to weather, etc.
   - SBMWT - how to motivate members to engage and take a leadership role to make ’things’ happen.
   - For got who mentions this but - how do we access the Paul B Scholarship resources available to MOA members?  Ray let us know it’s on the MOA Foundation Page of the MOA website.

For attendees of the March 9, 2019 meeting, if you need a room please call Embassy Suites direct at 518-290-9090 to reserve your room.  Let them know it’s to attend the MOA Meeting on Saturday 3/9 in the Skidmore Lounge.
Any & all ides welcome……………………Frank  518-369-8339
