Greetings all from the far north,Norton as Mistress, what a concept Dan! An additional benefit to this approach is when your wife finds out you're lavishing that much time, money and attention on a 40 year old, she would much rather it had tires than ta-ta's!Cheers,Will

The answer to this question seems simple to me! Find a BMW or Honda or some other modern bike that you like, buy it, then run the wheels off it. Little to no oil leaks and 10,000 or more miles of trouble free comfort riding. Push a button every time and off you go.

Think of your Norton as a mistress. Every time you are misunderstood go visit the Norton and take her for a good and exciting ride. You will learn to overlook the leaking oil and the hundreds of other flaws while you come home totally satisfied with you time together. This way you will have the best of both worlds and you will always have a bike that looks forward to seeing you.

Cheers

Gentlemen,

I will spend this winter eliminating any possible oil weeping or outright
seeping on my Mk III electric start.
I am seeking advice and access to a machine shop where I can address any
issues with modern technology solutions.
Unlike British solutions ( o rings and crush washers) I want to use modern
options and correct problems with non stone-age tools.  Sorry this sounds
harsh but is not meant to.

I'm an engineer and part time machinist so that's my approach.
Any thoughts are welcome.
My number is 973-462-5539.

Cheers (bit of British)
