Carb rebuild

The following is a picture showing the surprises you may find in your carbs. Simply just pulling the float bowl off and removing the main jet and pilot jet, cleaning them and balancing the carbs may be all you need.

Getting a rebuild kit from Bing International online (Kansas) or your BMW dealer (which I have read is actually better and maybe cheaper!) You get new diaphragms, needles, floats, etc. and can even get the DVD on how to do a rebuild. When I rebuilt one of my two airhead’s carbs, I even had the local BMW shop drop the bodies and parts into an ultrasonic cleaner before reassembling.

Bottom line from my experience is to start with the simplest and less costly approach...as the Airhead Cannons state 🤓.
