<div style="color:black;font: 10pt Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Unless you are semi-pro level rider in AMA, your R100 forks don't need a fork brace.<br>
90+% of the time fork stiction is the real issue because fork tubes and some yokes are not straight....right from BMW.  <br>
<br>
If you install a fork brace without correcting the real issues:  <br>
1. Fork brace will not help.<br>
2. Can make things worse.<br>
<br>
Here's a quick easy way to check your fork stiction and correct it. <br>
<br>
Take the front wheel off, remove fork springs, put front axle back in and tighten things to factory specs.<br>
Then raise and lower the axle to see if you have any binding issues.<br>
<br>
A possible simple quick fix can sometimes relieve the stiction.  Rotate one of the male fork leg tubes 45 degrees at a time for a full 270 degree rotation. and repeat the up/down procedure to feel if any stiction is relieved. <br>
<br>
If you get some improvement with one male fork tube, then tighten the yoke clamps on that tube and proceede to the other fork tube.  Repeat process.<br>
<br>
I have had considerable success with this process with my /6 that had a fork brace that I removed. <br>
<br>
If none of the above produces any satisfactory results, then you need your fork tubes checked for straightness and the yokes checked for straightness and holes checked for alignment. <br>

Hey I'm trying to stiffen-up the front end of my '77R100 and wondering if any Heads out there happen to have a San Jose Style 'Dual Loop' front fork brace that they'd like to part with, cash or trade, whatever floats your floatbowl.  As I understand it, this
 would be the type that replaces the front fender mount bracket.  Anyway, I thought I'd check with you guys first, keep it 'in the family' if possible;:)</div>
