Clean the sealing surface of the tank to make sure it’s not uneven. Blocking it with fine sandpaper to create a smooth surface may be necessary. The nut on the petcock body is a left hand thread, the one to the tank is RH. Thread the nut on the petcock first on rotation. Then install the petcock on the tank until finger tight. Holding the petcock, tighten the remainder with a wrench Guedentite. Prounounced goood in tight. Ha! Seriously, I use an 8” wrench and just go till the new washer stops compressing. When the wrench stops, you stop. Add gas and wait to check for leaks. I have had to give it an extra tweak on my /6 as I was getting a little seepage. No seepage, you’re good. </div><div>Ps.
