But overall you are correct, the stress where most cables break is at the hand lever......mostly because the pivot pin barrel) is not regularly lubed. <br>

Use motorcycle chain lube (preferably with Moly) spray can with long nozzle to reach into where it is needed is perfect way to keep the barrel well lubed and only takes 2-3 seconds with everything in place.<br>
