Tomorrow (Saturday)? looks like a great day to ride.
If you're interested, let's meet at the GSP CheeseQuake Rest Area at 10:30am. ( just above the gas station), The plan is to go to Sky Manor Airport, west of Clinton via 287 and 78.? Their Caf? was open for takeout when I was there a couple weeks ago.
On the way back, we'll take some backroads toward Flemington etc.

Leave: 10am GSP CheeseQuake Rest Area (meet just above the gas pumps)
Route To:? interstates half way, then back roads... GSP - I287 - Rt 22. Then Lamington Rd off of Rt 22., then backroads to Hot Dog Johnnys.

Route Back:? The fast way back is Rt 31 south to I78 and home.? However I created a zig zag route back without I78 or 287 or GSP.
I anticipate the total ride will be 4 hours.
Hot Dog Johnnys is open for takeout. ? They have picnic tables under covering; bathrooms open.? Dining tables inside are closed.
Attached is a GPX file and a jpeg map file... I made a mistake on the first leg from GSP to Rt 22 so ignore the piece that goes north of 287.

For your Information??..The BMW MOA has created a new style event for late Sept in Lebanon TN. There will be plenty of music, vendors and refreshments. You can tent camp or not. All activities are out doors except a large tent for refreshments.? It is not like our traditional National Rally (which is moved to next year in Montana).? There are? options for one day attendance or all weekend.,,,,

Thanks to Roger for the update on MOA activities.

There are quite a few other potential rides/activities for September 
that members may want to consider:

*Sept 11-13th,* Morton's BMW Spring Fling - final edition - delayed by 
Covad-19. It's held at Natural Bridge VA, a historic natural wonder 
(owned by Thomas Jefferson at one time.)? Great riding location - about 
1/2 mile off the Blue Ridge Parkway, and not far from Warm Springs VA - 
a great afternoon ride - and visit "The Homestead" a hotel of national 
renown.? The club has typically done a 2 day ride though the back roads 
of MD and WV and VA to get there, overnighting at Stephen's City VA 
(great restaurant near the motel.)? The pools should be open - bring 
your swim trunks. https://www.mortonsbmw.com/springfling_2020

*Sept 18-20th,* NJSBMWR's annual Oktoberfest at Crystal Brook Resort, 
Round Top NY.? A fun weekend - where all your needs are attended to for 
one price. You get a room for 2 nights, 6 meals and great riding all for 
around $200/person for the weekend.? On site is a Brauhaus that is 
always a favorite with club members and club guests.? We open this to 
any rider - and there are usually no prizes, no rewards, no raffles, 
none of the usual rally effluvia - just fun with friends.? The pool is 
still open for those wanting to do some waterworks. Most of us take an 
entire day getting to the rally - some great routes through the NY 
Catskill Forest Preserve (and NYC reservoirs) and some of us take all 
day coming home. If you're in a rush - it's about 3 hours by the NY 
Thruway and GSP.

*Sept 17-20,* BMW-RA National Rally, Waynesville NC. RA national's have 
typically been a bit lower key than the MOA nationals -? but since it's 
a smaller group - they've been able to pick locations that wouldn't work 
for the MOA. The rallies are always fun. Waynesville looks like it could 
be a great 2 day ride through the VA/NC mountains.

*Sept 24-27th, * is the MOA event Roger told us about.? Lebanon TN is 
probably a good 2 day ride by mostly back roads (once out of NJ).

September is typically a perfect time for riding. Not too hot, not too 
rainy and we still have light until about 7PM. There must be one of 
these events you'd be interested in.. or take 3 of them and make up a 3 
week tour of the east coast and Appalachian Mountains.

rumble.?? Back in March it was proposed that we schedule the rumble 
during the last two weeks in? August but since then nothing has been 
done.? Assuming things will be better in late August, I suggest the 
weekend of August 22-23.? Any suggestions as where and how?

club newsletter.

Many of you have stories of "exciting weather on the road".  It
could be that hailstorm you got caught in, or the tornado you saw,
or the huge storm that you just missed getting caught in.

Why not write that up for the newsletter?  It doesn't have to be
a long article -- even a couple of paragraphs will do.  Where were
you going?  Where were you when this exciting thing happened?  Who
was with you?  Did you escape unscathed?  Did your rain suit hold up?

We want to read you story.

Rick and I were swapping emails earlier today about this. Since the club 
is now over-funded (I believe I heard we have a treasury of over $1900 - 
which is $900 more than it should be) that we consider perhaps doing it 
somewhere like the Our-House and have them do it in their backyard.

Just a thought. I'm never comfortable with that much money in the 
treasury, people will start arguing over what to do with it.

Let's take another ride on Sunday 5/24 (not Saturday as previously discussed).? Sunday's weather looks better than Saturday.

I would like to explore that " Great Riding Area" we passed through last week on our Hot Dog Johnny's ride.? It is around Oldwick NJ, just above I78 and East of Clinton.? I've created a GPS route that will take us around the area. Attached is a pix of it.
Last week as we came down Rt 31 toward Clinton, Greg A smelled BBQ...? We will try to find the BBQ Pit for lunch on this ride.

Here is a similar ride in that area, I did this last week, killer ride.

When you get to Mountain Lake there is a picnic table on the lake with your own porta potty, great lunch stop.

I would like to explore that " Great Riding Area" we passed through last week on our Hot Dog Johnny's ride.  It is around Oldwick NJ, just above I78 and East of Clinton.  I've created a GPS route that will take us around the area. Attached is a pix of it.

  I'm a friend of Ed's. He told me about the ride and said it would be OK
to join in.  I have a K1600GT.  Very much looking forward to riding with
you folks tomorrow. About 20 years ago, when I worked in Morristown, I
regularly road with the Skylands club,  but then got a new job in NYC and
dtifted away. I slso recall riding  with with you folks a few times back
then too...your name is familiar, and I remember i enjoyed talking and
riding with Skip Palmer, and an overnight ride near Millville.

to "it needs to be extracted...." and then "well, it's a choice between 
an implant - finished sometime next February - or a permanant bridge 
just like the other side has, that could be done in a month or so.."

None of these come cheap. Or painless.? Don't make it worse - submit 
some fodder for the newsletter or I'll do a detailed writeup of when a 
root canal goes south.
