Bill Dudley co-president -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Go the Distance for Autism - Motorcycle Safety Volunteers Needed Date: Mon, 13 May 2019 20:05:30 -0400 From: Michelle Harper To: president at njsbmwr.org My name is Michelle Harper; I'm the Crew & Volunteer Coordinator for Go the Distance for Autism. Go the Distance is a bicycle ride that takes place on Sunday, June 2, 2019. The Ride benefits REED Academy, Gardner Academy, Alpine Learning Group & EPIC School. We are in desperate need of motorcycle safety volunteers to help support the Riders raising funds for those schools. Our motorcycle safety volunteers work directly with staff and local law enforcement to guarantee a safe passage for our cyclists during the event. They will be assisting at difficult intersections and other locations as directed by our command center. We have the areas marked out and will provide route cues. Please consider joining this much needed cause. Help spread the word for our need of motorcycle safety volunteers. I can be reached here by email or my cell 617.821.8536. Message-ID: I just want to introduce myself and hope this is the appropriate forum for that. I have recently returned to riding after a decade or two halitus. I was riding my 18 R1200RT this winter around Asbury Park when I ran into Don Ellenberger (not literally) and he told me about this club. I am 56 years old, and grew up in the Englishtown and Freehold area and currently reside with my wife are two little ones (my dogs) in Monroe. I love riding and try to find every excuse to find a way to get out and ride, I am always open to organized rides but also am fine with short-notice ad-hoc rides. Most of my riding occurs on the weekend and also enjoy full weekend get-aways. My wife is new to motorcycles and I have been getting her on the back more and more and she is getting more comfortable with each ride. For a hobby I play keyboard in a classic-rock cover band and play one or two weekends a month. Our regular gigs have been at the Cabin in Freehold, Coltsneck Inn and Captains Inn in Forked River So between riding and playing my weekends are pretty full, the way I like it. Anyway, I hope to meet you all soon and please keep me informed of any last minute rides. My main ride is a BMW K1 with sidecar, and there are several other solo bikes in the herd. I have a business for motorcycle suspension systems in Englishtown, since you grew up there you may know the area. 77 Pension Rd., Suite 17 - EPM Performance Imports. I am there most weekends and during the week until about 6-7 pm, so stop by if you are out on a ride. This weekend however is called for yard work at home.
