As usually, it is outstanding. Thanks to Don, Jim and others that contribute. The information for the upcoming Finger Lakes BMW Rally needs to be updated: 1) The Finger Lakes Rally preregistration is on their website.... http://www.fingerlakesbmw.org/rally/index.php http://www.fingerlakesbmw.org/rally/flpreregister.php 2) It is located in Watkins Glen NY, at the foot of the finger lake: Seneca Lake; about 4 1/2 or 5 hours from our shore area (slabbing it). The rally site is a few miles west in the Hidden Valley Campground. Great facilities for eating, meetings, entertainment. 3) The rally is over Labor Day weekend... it starts Friday morning 9am (Aug 31) and end Monday (Sept 3) 4) Cost is $65 pre register and $70 at the gate (cheaper rates for children ) 5) two dinners are included, entertainment, free camping, reasonably priced breakfast and Lunch specialties including red & white Hots (hotdogs) and sausage hoagie. 6) If you are not "camping inclined" there are numerous motels and B&Bs in Watkins Glen 7) Attendance is about 700 BMWers; its the club's 44th year holding the event 8) There are a lot of wineries in the finger lake area. and museums, etc. The website has more info 9) I run the Flea Market on behalf of the FL Club. It's a great place to find all the stuff you don't need and get rid of stuff that shrunk or parts that you don't use. So, bring all you can carry. 15 items max. The FL Club takes 10% of the stuff that is sold . I go up a few days earlier to help set up the site. Other club members have attended and may be going up..... so send out an email to the club members if you are interested in a group ride. Hope to see you there. They're pretending they're in Spring Lake - they're not - they're in the Heights. Same shopping center as the Spring Lake post office though.. it's at the very north end of Spring Lake Heights, on Rt 71 on the west side. If the shopping center looks like it used to have an old fashioned A&P in it - that's because it did. Now it has all sorts of other things in it. Menu here: https://bagelstation2-springlake.weebly.com/menu.html Googlie map linkie: https://goo.gl/maps/aq2yjJYJNjF2 See you there - anyone who does breakfast is also invited to the delayed celebration of my 70th birthday 2 weeks and 2 years late Saturday afternoon. Just gotta know if you're coming so I can get enough food. That's going to be at my house at 4:30ish or so. Back yard, temps are supposed to be in the 70's.? You can bring food/beer/whatever if you'd like - some people are.? You can bring spousal units too.. which is good because they have things other than motorcycles to talk about.? Just let me know how many are coming. Don On 7/2/2018 12:00 AM, William F. Thanks Tom. Grand Picnic Master! Imagine, just little old me. Picnic Czar would have sufficed. But I?ll make do. Those of you who shall attend tonight?s meeting should consult with the Grand Poobah (the warden) to see what culinary delight she might deliver for the picnic. You know, things like kielbasa and kraut or potato salad, or even beans. Perhaps she has a specialty that you will share with your impoverished brothers and sisters. For information on the Rally go to http://www.fingerlakesbmw.org/rally/index.php It's a great bargain and there's plenty to see in the surrounding area. When you come up, bring flea market items. The F.L. Club will sell it for you for 10%. and best of all you don't have to stick around to sell it. The Rally opens Friday Aug 31 and ends Monday Labor day. Plenty of places to stay in motels and B&Bs in Watkins Glen. Free camping at the Rally Site a few miles from Watkins Glen. Total ride is about 5 hours on the slab Roger T From dud at casano.com Tue Jul 31 00:00:02 2018 From: dud at casano.com (dud at casano.com) Date: Tue, 31 Jul 2018 00:00:02 -0400 Subject: [NJSBMWR] Event Reminder Moribundi lunch Message-ID: <201807310400.w6V402kA085331@dudley.casano.com> This is an automatic reminder of an upcoming NJSBMWR event.
