I'm tossing it over to the members who go - it seems people want 
something "usual" like down in the shore area. I'm not certain if I'll 
be in attendance (family still visiting and a crappy summer flu like 
thing that is very slowly going away..) - so it's up to you, lets hear 1 
or 2?

1. Princess Maria Diner - Rt 35, Wall Twsp. Traditional NJ Diner fare, 
not great, not awful. That's as close to my house as I can find.

2. Allenwood General Store - Allenwood Rt 524/Atlantic Ave, Wall. It's 
far enough west that it won't be swamped with visitors from the north 
and you know the menu.

1 or 2 - you call it.

Dan, sorry but Metuchen got voted out. I wanted to go see if they had a 
real deal on a C3 in my size..

I received an email from Harold Wednesday AM telling me of his decision 
to enter home hospice at this time. He feels all that can be done has 
been done. I wasn't certain if he wanted this to go public, so I only 
shared it with a few people who have known Harold for a long time. Many 
new club members may not know Harold since he hasn't been too active 
over the past few years for rather obvious reasons. What most current 
members, even longer term members may not remember - Harold has been a 
member of the club since April 1st, 1995. That's 33 years of loyal 
membership. He has always considered the NJSBMWR his "home" club.

I know that Harold is, as Pete said, very fatigued. He might like to 
hear from you via email. His email is: hmgantz at gmail.com? I wouldn't 
necessarily expect a reply since I suspect even that is quite an effort 
for him.

Harold mentioned he would be posting a for-sale notice for his KLR650 
shortly. If you are interested or know anyone who is - please keep it in 
mind.

As Pete said - Harold has been consistently - one of the good guys. 
Someone I'm proud to call a friend. His wry sense of humor never fails 
to get a laugh out of me, as he sees the ironic much as I do.

We have gotten (thanks to Jim Cavallo) an invitation to visit what is 
supposed to be a very large (>100 bikes?) private BMW motorcycle 
collection.? The owner anticipates it will take several hours to view. 
It's located in Cherry Hill NJ - an easy ride from OurWAWA.? The bikes 
include pre-WWII bikes, and I believe some WWII bikes and newer.

The date is Sunday Sept 30th. We'd be leaving OurWAWA at 10AM. If I get 
the directions/address beforehand I'll share them as the date gets 
closer.? We will go to a late lunch after the visit somewhere local to 
Cherry Hill.

I would like to know an approximate head count - so please respond to ME 
at deilenberger at gmail.com if you're coming. I've also been asked to 
invite New Sweden and Skylands.? I imagine since it's in New Sweden's 
backyard they'll have a good turnout.

Graciously hosted by Tom Spader, the picnic is at 206 Washington Ave., Point Pleasant Beach. Capt. Mike is chief purchaser and chef. The club provides food and soft drinks. If you prefer an adult beverage, bring it with you.
In a departure from the past, members will be bringing various dishes to supplement and perhaps supplant Chef Mike?s delights. I suspect a culinary festival may result.
Twenty-five members and partners are expected to attend. Around half that number are bringing food.

I sent this message out to the New Sweden Riders, our club and Skylands.

So far - New Sweden has about 20 interested people
Our club has about 10 (sad..)
Skylands hasn't been heard from.? Dunno how many are attending.

I think we can do better than 10.. wouldn't it be embarrassing if the 
club sponsoring the visit had the fewest people attending?? SAD.

Another month has passed and another Moribundi lunch looms. September 5th to be precise. Bill Dudley has proposed Jinli Sichuan Chinese Restaurant in Marlboro and a review of the menu provide some exciting choices.
How about some stir-fried intestines or frogs with pickled pepper? Not to your taste? Then perhaps beef-tendon noodle soup or fish filets with pigs-blood curd and intestines will fit the bill. Maybe sliced ox tongue and tripe will be your choice.
Of course I jest. There are the usual choices we expect at a Chinese eatery. And they do have an extensive menu, be they a bit pricey.
But then you pay not only for the food but also the company.

I will point out that lunch specials are $8 and $9, so it's possible to
have lunch for $12.
It's nominally a Setzuan restaurant, which means they have hot-spicy
cuisine, but
not all of it is, or I wouldn't be recommending it.

If you don't want just a bunch of photos for a newsletter - get 
scribbling. How about a report on the summer's ice-cream runs?? I have 
one report on the club picnic by the Picnic Czar himself, but it's 
brief, so I could use some more, and if you have any photos to send that 
would be nice.? I realize that August is a slow (and very HOT) month - 
but someone must have gone somewhere and we'd love to hear about it.
