the R65LS, and the R80GS, then this is probably your last chance to meet
the man.  He'll be at the 40th anniversary r80gs rally that Todd is 
putting on this September 20-22 in Pennsylvania.

Registration has been slowing down after a quick start.  We are only 
about halfway to a  capacity of 150 attendees, which is roughly my 
break-even point. I hope more sign up soon, or I will be taking a big 
bath on this one.

I was hoping to have enough R80GS and R65LS owners interested, but if 
so, they are taking their time signing up and this has me a bit nervous. 
  I'm very close to opening this event up to more boxer enthusiasts, 
i.e. R90S and R100RS riders.  I have been working very hard for over a 
year organizing and planning this event and Hans A. Muth and George 
Schorsch Martin have been working on a special presentation for all 
attendees for the past year also.

If you are thinking of attending, please register as soon as you are 
able and feel free to bring a BMW boxer riding friend with you.  Click

The weather is forecasted to be from 50 to 70 degrees Saturday with clouds
giving way to sun.  We hope you will want to take a ride and mingle with
other motorcycle people.  Ellen is planning some tasty treats for one & all.
Look for the Airhead flag near the entrance to the driveway.  The get
together will be held at 78 County Road 519, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.  Most
GPS's know where we are. If lost, call 908-500-1888.

SATURDAY, MAY 11, SATURDAY, MAY 11, Saturday May 11. Now you will not
forget!  Airhead owners, airhead wannabes, airhead techies & talkies as well
as other 2 wheeled enthusiasts.  On that Saturday, May 11th, from 9 AM on,
there will be a chance for the above people to assemble for a day of
friendship, conversation and knowledge of Airheads at my home on County Road
519 in Pohatcong, NJ. Some tech work can be accomplished as a lift will be
available, but bring your own parts & fluids as needed. The usual beverages
available in the morning with homemade muffins by Chef Ellen. Doughnuts not
needed. Lunch will also be available later courtesy of Ellen's magical
hands.  Polly, my security police dog, will be checking out everyone and
gathering any evidence. If any special tools needed, please notify me in
advance and I might be able to have them available.

Please note that County Road 519 is closed south of my location (Holland
township) for the balance of the year.  A detour will take you over some
interesting backroads to 627.  If coming north from Milford, you can also
take River Road out of Milford to County Road 627 (Riegelsville-Milford Rd)
and from there to 519 North.

The Airstore products will be available for sale.  No shipping charges. Take

to make your selection and notify me in advance & I will have the items set

It was a most beautiful day Saturday to be on a motorcycle, especially an
airhead as the temperature & humidity made the airhead engine sing with
enjoyment.  Did you ride?

The NJ Get together was enjoyed by riders from NY, PA & NJ and the weather
was perfect.  Ellen's kitchen capabilities were enjoyed by all who attended.
There even was some work that got done.

Rob had all kinds of assistance to manually change both tires on a recent RS
purchase.  He even was able to ride home on the new tires that put a smile
on his face.

Tom brought in a /6 resurrection project and installed refurbished
cylinders, reattached the carbs, exhaust and other items.  After some
encouragement, it even started and ran quite well. He trailered it home to
put the finishing touches to it.

 

Thanks to the supermen who carried the executive desk and credenza out of
our house & into the garage.  If you know of anyone looking to furnish an
office space with a couple of good pieces let me know. I have pictures.

 

Thanks again for coming to our expected last tech day/get together in this

Thank you David and Ellen for hosting a terrific event, I was tied up
earlier in the day, but did manage to arrive later and was happy to see that
there were still a small gathering of enthusiasts finishing up on some
maintenance projects, kicking tires and telling tales.

Sorry to hear about the move, but hopefully we will still be seeing you from
time to time and I'll be looking forward to your visit in September along
with the Airstore at the R80GS, R65LS anniversary event.
