[NJairheads] R90S Engine work

Hi All

I have a 1975 R90S with 50k miles on it and it is using too much oil. I tried 2 different BMW friendly businesses to get the heads and cylinders looked at to see what was the problem and what the work would cost to fix it. Both places say, send me the heads and cylinders and we will look at them, with no time commitments. I spent 3 months at the 1st place and no one even looked at them. They have been in the 2nd place for 3 weeks with no idea of when they can be looked at.

Is this normal trying to get machine work done? Is there any recommendations anyone can give me to have my this type of work done?
