This will be a weekend extravaganza of airhead tech sessions and expert advice and experience as well as some great camaraderie. Training sessions will cover how systems and components work, how to maintain and overhaul them, how to get out of trouble on the side of the road and how to keep these great bikes safe and reliable. Sessions will mostly focus on the ?later? airheads from /5 through end of production. For newcomers, the BMW Airhead cutaways, the Slice-cycle and other possible goodies will be there to peruse. We will gather for dinner and tire kicking on that Friday night for those arriving early and the tech sessions will begin at 8:00am on Saturday morning. We?ll have a light lunch and finish the sessions around 5pm. Attendees will have time to clean up and rest before the catered dinner that evening with a very special guest speaker, Bob ?Snowbum? Fleischer. Sessions will begin again Sunday morning and activities will conclude by noon. This event will be held in eastern Pennsylvania and will be open to only 60 attendees. Registration details will also be posted on the Airheads.org website on December 1st. Registration will open at that time. We will have a standby list once the max number is reached in case of last minute cancellations. We are hatching plans to make this one the best ever so stand by and book your calendars. Hope to see you there. Registration fee is $125.00 for members and $145 for non-members. If you plan on bringing a Saturday dinner guest an additional $25 is required. Please send checks or USPS money orders in USD funds payable to: Rob Price PO Box 1621 Southampton PA 18966 Include with your payment your name, address, email address, member number and shirt size. Thanks to all for the help and suggestions. I finally got my R90S back together and finished the first 100 miles on the new engine work and she is purring like a kitten. I ultimately found Randy Long in PA and he did the work on the Heads and Cylinders. He is the man, knows what needs to be done and what can be done but is not necessary. I also was out at Hermys initially but as soon as they saw I needed a machine Shop they got me into Randy Long's. Hermys had all the parts and gaskets I needed to put it back together in stock and were very help full. Also an interesting showroom with Truimph and BMW under the same roof. Twenty years ago Cross Country in Bound Brook had no one who ?knew? our machines and they caused me some real grief with my R100RT wheel bearings. I ended up just using them just for parts. I don?t know if the people now running Cross Country in Bergen County are the same people but my guess is that if they are stopping work on our bikes, then their graybeard wrench is retiring and taking his ?special? tools with him!! I ended up using Amols in Dumont but they aren?t in the Airhead business any more. Consider contacting Mike Kowal down in Howell Township 732 239 8541 / 732 886 6445 Mike works out of his garage on his property, certainly knows our bikes very well as well as the previous generations of classics. I have no idea who does his head machining.
