Subject: [MEairheads] Gas tank stank....

I have my RS gas tank down at Barrington Motor Works where they are 
doing a reline.? It was a project I knew I had to get done as the old 
stuff in there was flaking off and looked really nasty. So a few weeks 
ago I took a drive down to drop it off and Ande started the process.? 
Barrington has a tumbler that they mount the tanks on and use various 
solutions and techniques.? After sitting for a week with Evaporust and 
drained, Ande used various pliers and other claw-like devices to pull 
some of it out.? Even he was horrified...

I looks like it was relined at least once and there is some foam-like 
stuff there that he said came out of the pockets.?? He was afraid of 
what else he might find....

Be well and get out to ride.? I hear the middle of the month is looking 
better!

And don't forget to reup with the ABC if you haven't already!

Sounds like the inside of your tank was looking like the outside of their barn (picture on their website).? Good to get it cleaned out..
First ride was yesterday on Honda XR650L.? BMW is still in the dining room.

 My R51 tank sat on that tumbler for a long time. I remember the sound of it tumbling marbles or what ever for hours or maybe it was days.  It did a great job but unfortunately the tank was not up to it and was not salvageable. And so the search began for another tank and thanks to Todd Rasmussen in Oklahoma we were able to find one. Now that tank regularly gets soaked with WD 40 when not in use.  Oh what we go through for our beloved airheads.
  Rode the Kpowered EML rig over to Streets to pick my latest order of engine parts for the R90/6 which sits on the lift less it's pistons. It was nice to get out but the K100 rig doesn't quite have the personality of the R90.

Either you live alone or have an understanding spouse!? I tried to get 
my wife to let me bring the RS into the house a couple Christmases ago 
and decorate it but she was less than enamored of that idea.... :)

Hopefully your tank didn't suffer as much abuse as this one.  The bike was cheap, restoring it wasn't.

 I think Duane said he was alone.  But it's worth a call.  My license has expired because I need an eye test.  All I have for bike registrations are online receipts. But thank goodness the bikes  are all registered as antiques so they don't have to be inspected.

Airheads,

As part of a project to make my mail server, "casano.com", more
standards compliant (and hence have more of my email accepted
by other mail servers), I have modified your mailing list as
follows:

The "Subject" field will no longer be automatically prefixed by [MEAirheads].

The "From" field will show the original "From" value of the person who sent
the message.  (Formerly it would say "real-name via MEAirheads".)

Their will no longer be a message footer added that has instructions for
unsubscribing.  However, this information is in the message headers, and
your email client (Outlook, etc) should have a button that says "unsubscribe
from this mailing list" somewhere.

To reply to the entire mailing list, use "Reply-All" in your mail client.
The default "Reply" behaviour will be to reply to only the message poster.
