Message-ID: <73e3c5a0-50cb-2c40-4fcf-14954b82c633@gmail.com> But there's NOTHING better than wood heat on a frigid winter day.? It's a toasty 73 in the house right now... :-) Thanks to Ed Smith for reminding me to send an update! _Winter Airhead Swap Meet_ According to Tim Hille, the fellow who hosted the winter Swap Meet has retired and moved to Florida so the indoor venue in Gardner has been lost.? I believe the plan, for this year at least, will be to hold the event sometime late April or early May in or near Duncan's Beemers in Maynard MA.? It will have to be an outside affair, hence the later date.? It is possible that it will eventually be moved back in February if a suitable venue can be found.? Once I know the exact date and location of this year's event, I'll send it out. _Winter Small Parts Tech Day_ A couple Saturday's ago I made my way down to Tim's place in Stowe MA for his Winter Tech Day - Small parts.? It was well attended and Tim's got a great little garage and moto man-cave to go with it.? Met some great folks and did get to see a younger (!) guy cleaning up the bore of his mc and assembling the internals.? I wish I could remember the names but, well, you know.? Another gentleman brought along his custom-made assembly tools that, when you see them in action, make you go "Ahhhhhhhhh..... Of course!" The homemade Chili and corn bread lunch was perfect!? Thanks Tim! *Another reminder that our Spring Coffee and Donuts is now under 4 months away!? May 9th, the day before Mother's day! * Also not that far off is the 7th Annual Antique Motorcycle Ride hosted by George Priyadarshi on June 13th.? Details can be found on the BMWRSM calendar (https://bmwrsm.org/rsm-calendar/) I've wanted to do this ride but something always seems to be going on that weekend.? This year is no different.? My wife and I are flying out on the 12th to Munich to do a Beach's Motorcycle Tour, the Dolomite Domination.? It's been a bucket list item for a very long time and we've been saving up for it for just as long. It's a 9 day tour that begins and ends in Munich with the highlight being Stelvio Pass.? Once our tour is over we're shipping our gear back home and hopping a train to Venice, Rome and then to the south of Italy to the childhood home of my paternal grandparents.? I still have relatives in the area that I've connected with on Facebook but have never met.? The trip of a lifetime for sure! That's all for now!? Stay warm, it's all of -2 outside my window right now! Thanks for keeping us informed. Because of Chris and Bobsie Betjemann theres a lot of /2 and /3 info available in their three 500 page books, but somebody needs to do a good airhead book. Theres a lot of info out there but it' all scattered around. Thanks again Ed ________________________________ From: MEairheads on behalf of Nik Rende via MEairheads Sent: Friday, January 24, 2020 7:42 PM To: meairheads at casano.com Cc: Nik Rende Subject: [MEairheads] MAX BMW /2 Engine Tech Class In case you don't do the Facebook or get regular emails from Max BMW, they are holding 2 "/2 Engine Fundamentals" classes in NH coming up next month. He said it was a great class with a lot of good information.? Was well worth it.? But it also appears that the subsequent classes are a couple hundred bucks more expensive too?? I'd love a chance to take a /7 class but not sure its in my budget. Best Nik.
