On Saturday April 20th, Chris and Bridget Kennedy will once again host their annual TechnoBarn Tech Day in Crownsville, Maryland. Official details of the event from Chris and Bridget are below. Please RSVP to Chris, so they have some idea of how much food will be needed. Hope to see you there! MD- Crownsville TechnoBarn Tech Day Rain day if required Sunday April 21st . Hope you can join Bridget and myself for yet another Annual TechnoBarn Tech Day in Crownsville, MD. This is the perfect event to get your ride ready for the season - plenty of room in our restored tobacco barn for multiple airheads, motorcycle lift, motorcycle jacks, good selection of tools, compressor, carb balancer, timing light, etc. We are 20 minutes from Annapolis, and 20 minutes from Bob?s BMW in case you need that extra part. There?s lots of room for anyone with a yen to camp over and do some additional sightseeing. The grill will be fired up with suitable fare and soft drinks will be available. It is up to you to provide your own cigars and port. If anyone is interested in a special project or has a repair beyond regular maintenance let us know in advance so we can make sure to have all necessary tools available. Please call or e-mail for directions or further information. We will be ready to go any time after 9am. Food planning will be a lot easier if we have an accurate head count, so please RSVP. All others are welcome in the parking area, so ride/bring what you have. I go every year and spend the entire day seeing the many who have come over the years and newbies. I also do judging duties in the Italian classes. Btw......there's a nice flea market that has been very good for vintage BMW parts. For instance, last year I scored a full set of beautiful condition Craven panniers and top box for just $200 for a buddy who's restoring his 1969 R69US. Also note that this year is the first year for Japanese bikes. This will most certainly become a bit hit with many for years to come. The venue is new this year and sure to please. British, European and Japanese classic motorcycles 1983 and older will descend upon our new venue in nearby Mt. Airy, Maryland. Don't miss it! *Vendors* Vendor Spaces will be available to reserve online until May 1st. After May 1, vendors pay at the gate the day of the event (May 19). Vendor spaces are $40 for a 15' x 25' space. Need a larger space? Buy 2 spaces, which would get you a 30' x 25' space for $80. Each space includes admission for 1 person. You can reserve a space until May 1st.Click here to reserve an open-air vendor space on the field. There are still a limited number of covered, wooden structures available for vendors. First come, first served, see our website to reserve yours today. Click here to reserve a covered vendor space. Note: ? Vendor spaces are for Classic Motorcycle related items. ? All Vendor spaces are assigned by Classic Motorcycle Day personnel. ? We reserve the right to deny a vendor space at our discretion. ? We reserve commemorative, concession and food vending rights. ? The event is rain or shine (no rain date, no refunds). *Kids under 12 free with paid adult admission* No need to leave the little ones at home, CMD is a family-friendly place. Bring little Johnny or Janie along. Who knows, they might even have a good time outside, looking at beautiful old machines and crusty old piles of parts. Did we mention food trucks? We're even contemplating a fun activity to keep the little buggers amused for a couple of minutes. *Kids under 12 free with paid adult admission* No need to leave the little ones at home, CMD is a family-friendly place. Triumph is the Featured Marque this year at CMD, maybe there will be examples of one of each of these at the show. *See our Website for More Info* Go to www.classicmotorcycleday.org for directions, list of concours classes, our list of supporters, pictures and results from past years, and more. There are also links below for our email, Facebook page and website. *Japanese Marques added for 2019* Japanese manufactured bikes (1983 or older) in the Concours show will be a welcome addition to Classic Motorcycle Day going forward. We hope to see plenty of bikes (like this 1973 XS650 Yamaha) vying for concours plaques in the Stock classes for Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Other Japanese categories, as well as the Competition and Custom classes. There is also a special award for the Oldest Japanese bike. The vendors will also be open to 1983 or older parts/bikes/accessories for Japanese bikes. Message-ID: Hedz, We are doing it again... Five years ago Mike DiPietro, Robert Wack, and I hatched a plan to build a block cooker in Mike's backyard and roast an entire pig. We thought it would be a good way to bring the neighborhood together and invite friends and family for a large backyard party. The idea was kicked around a bit, and carried out with tremendous support from Sue, Lisa, and Laura (our wonderful wives) along with many friends, and neighbors. This is our fifth year hosting the event and it really has been a lot of fun. Each year we roast an entire pig, some chicken, and also have burgers and hot dogs for the kids. We put the pig in the cooker Friday evening, cover it, and slow roast it over hardwood for about 18 hours. The next morning we fill my canoe with a few hundred pounds of ice and beverages for kids and adults. We ask people bring a side dish to share and whatever particular beverages you enjoy or would like to share. We have chilled trays to keep cold foods cool. The party is family friendly. We have yard games for the kids including volleyball, badminton, corn-hole, and whatever else they may want to play; so please feel free to bring them along- children, adults, spouses, significant others, etc... It generally goes late with a backyard bonfire... We host about 150 people throughout the day. It's a great way to spend a spring afternoon, meet new people, and enjoy some great food. This year we have settled on May 11th for the day and usually get started around 3:00 PM or so. And.. this year my daughter Mae is in the middle school production of Annie Jr. that same day with a 2:00 PM matinee performance, so I will likely make it back to the pig roast around 4:15 or so... That's about the time we will pull the pig from the cooker. We live in downtown Westminster and we host the event in Mike and Sue Dipietro's back yard just up the street from our house. Details: Saturday May 11, 2019 3:00ish PM until ? Address: 90 W Green Street Westminster, Maryland 21157 (three houses up the street from where we live) Give me a head's up if you're coming so we can gauge the size of the pig we must secure... In addition to the usual assortment of bikes, there was a MG _T series and a Model A I enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new ones and helping Tim with his first foray into MC maintenance. The web site and on-line registration work, however, finding the registration page isn't obvious. From most of the pages, click on the word "REGISTRATION" at the top of the page to be taken to event registration. There's also a drop down menu from REGISTRATION that allows you to make a motel registration. There are many pages of information on this site, covering background, history, special guests, registration, lodging, etc. We only have room for 150 enthusiasts, so don't wait too long. Also, there is an "Early Bird" Special, you may want to take advantage of. Hope to see you here this Fall. I decided to use Ticket Spice to handle the transactions, because they only charge 99 cents for this service, but if you prefer to use PayPal ( Friend to Family) or are more comfortable sending a person check ( contact me for address), feel free to do so. If you have any questions at all please contact me at my email address.
