[MDairheads] "CE" Pads

So I subscribe to buying new motorcycle and bicycle helmets every 5 years, but what about internal padding ?
Made of foam / Subject to Sweat / Subject to abuse / Subject to ???
Somehow I think that we should be replacing our knee- , shoulder-, back-, hip-, coxis-  and other pads with some regularity ?
Are there any manufacturer's recommendations ?
Curious to know what everyone is doing.
