Good evening, (morning) Hedz,
I am preparing a 1992 GSPD for a long tour of Mexico , I have the bike
partially dissassembled ( rear drive, shaft and gear box removed) and I was
, smartly, advised to inspect the clutch and rear seal since I am so close .
I think that this would be an excellent thing if there is someone in the
airhead group that could , and would help me takle this job as I have
relatively limited mechanical knowledge to consider doing it by myself . I
would really like to meet him ( or them)
I have a garage, a lift, plenty of tools and a few weeks. the bike must be
road ready by mid Sepember with enough time to do a long tast ride before
the trip.
I am happy to trade the help and advise for a nice dinner for two with all
the goodies at La Ferme restaurant
( note: that I do not have the special tools required for this specific job
but will have in hand all needed parts )
my schedule is flexible.
The goal is to do all preventive maintenance and as much upgrading as
possible so the trip will be about riding and not about repair on the
motel's parking lot. My experience has been good so far and I have been
able to ride long distance in the boonies of the world without any issues
in may trip in the last 30 years and I love to keep it that way.
Thanks for reading and all your consideration and advise.
sincerely,
Alain Roussel.
