5th South Georgia Campout at Georgia Veterans State Park (Duck's rally)

The Georgia Airheads invite you to the Georgia Veteran's State Park (2459
US-280 W Cordele, Georgia 31015) at beautiful Lake Blackshear for camping,
campfires, and camaraderie.This venue offers many recreational
opportunities in addition to some great local roads with historic
destinations such as Andersonville National Historic site and The National
POW museum, the Georgia Rural Telephone museum, and the Jimmy Carter
National Historic site among others.  This year the Sam Shortline Railroad
Plains Express will be leaving from the park at 10 am for a day trip to
Plains, Georgia. It returns to the park about 3:30. Check their website (
www.samshortline.com) for ticket prices and availability.
We've had a great time the last couple of years and plan to do so again
this year. Trailers are welcome but there are no hook ups in our area. The
park provides campsites with full hook-ups for those who desire a little
more. Contact the Georgia Veterans State Park for reservations and cost @
229-276-2371.
This is a BYOB event with easy access to local stores for supplies. A $40
donation covers your camping and Friday and Saturday evening meals, coffee
in the mornings and whatever else we can work in. Chef Brian will be
supplying his melt in your mouth brisket again Saturday evening and Costal
Groove will be returning to entertain us with music and repartee. Rally
shirts will be available for purchase again this year too. Our event area
(Pioneer 1 camping) has showers and restrooms for the use of attendees.
