I hope you all had a good time.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">For our November meeting, we will be having our semi-annual public Fall Type Out event at Pennysmiths Paper on Rio Grande. It will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2019, from 1PM to 4PM. I expect a very similar turn-out like we’ve had in the last few years. Kevin and I will be setting up around 12 noon, so come early if you can.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">In case you haven’t attended one of these public events, the meeting is held on the covered breezeway adjacent to Pennysmiths Paper, on folding tables. You should bring some warm layered clothes in case the weather is chilly. We will be having people from all walks of life trying their hand at our typewriters, so it represents a good opportunity for us to interact with people who may not be familiar with typewriter operation. Please bring several machines if you can, and be prepared to interact with a wide variety of people. I will bring some typing paper, but please bring a bit of your own, if you can. I will also bring some correction tape, and will have ribbons available for people to purchase, if needed. We will also have a table set up for electric machines.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Typewriters represent to us more than mere writing devices, but a philosophy of sustainability and self-sufficiency in this age of constant distractions. These public events are a great opportunity to spread the word about typewriters as aids to creativity and inspiration. You’ll also find that kids love our typewriters, so be sure to assist the little one in their safe operation.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">I will be putting notice of this event in the ABQ Journal and Alibi. It’s already been put up on the Facebook Antique Typewriters Group, but I will also publish it as a local event.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Let your friends know about this event, it’s a great opportunity to meet new people. In fact, many of our current members first found our group through these public events.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">I am also soliciting any ideas or advice for making these events more fun and educational.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Please contact me directly with any questions, at: <a href="mailto:jvcabacus@yahoo.com" class="">jvcabacus@yahoo.com</a></div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Sincerely,</div><div class="">Joe Van Cleave</div><div class="">505-296-5646</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""></div></div></body></html>
